Adoption Process

We match each family with a dog best suited for their situation. All dogs have their own needs, energy levels and are at different stages of training. Upon review of your application, we guide you toward dogs that match your family and lifestyle to ensure the dog receives the most fulfilling, enriched life.

Fill out an adoption application.
A member of the adoption committee will go over your application and contact you with questions.
Once approved, we will set up a meet and greet with potential adoptables.
If the meet and greet goes well, we will set up a time to do a home visit and finalize the adoption. After the adoption is finalized all pertinent documents, tags and medical records will be transferred to the adopter.

Adoption Application

We look forward to receiving your application. Please allow 72 hours for an adoption coordinator to review your application and get back to you. Completion of an application does not guarantee adoption of a Be Fido's Friend animal.

It is our goal to set up all adopters for success. Be Fido's Friend's adoption fee is $300 and includes:

a physical examination by our veterinarian
age-appropriate vaccinations
spay/neuter surgery
microchip implant
collar, leash and harness (if necessary) and ID tag
a 5 pound bag of high quality food currently consumed by adoptable pet
Fact sheets on crate training, pet care, poisonous foods, holistic care and a puppy guide (if under 9 months of age)

an ongoing, open line of communication: we encourage all adopters to contact us with any questions or issues that may come up with a BFF alumni and are available for support and to suggest resources
